Description

Cheesy Vegan Pizza Beans is a delicious and satisfying vegan dish that is perfect for a quick dinner or a satisfying snack. Made with kidney beans, tomato sauce, and vegan cheese, this dish is packed with protein and flavor.

Ingredients
    For the Dough:
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter ((240g))
  • 3 1/2 cup bread flour ((440g))
  • 1 ¼ cup warm water ((300ml))
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • For the Egg Wash (Optional)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
  1. 1
Ensure your sourdough starter is active and bubbly before beginning. Feed it at least 4-6 hours before mixing the dough.
  2. 2
In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar (or honey).
  3. 3
Stir to dissolve. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. 4
Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise at room temperature for 8-12 hours (or overnight) until doubled in size.
  6. 6
Divide the dough into 4-6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a long hoagie roll, about 6-8 inches in length.
  7. 7
Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. 8
Cover the shaped rolls and let them rise for 1-2 hours until puffy.
  9. 9
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using an egg wash, brush the tops of the rolls for a golden finish. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until golden brown.
  10. 10
    Cool and Enjoy
